Hunting Using Slabs Turkey Trumpet Calls
How does the turkey trumpet sound?
The turkey trumpet call sounds like a wild turkey hen. When the trumpet is mastered the turkey hen will call the gobbler, aka longbeards, Tom turkey, strutters, and the wild turkey will come running to the hen sound. Because the hen can yelp, cluck, or cry the trumpet sounds authentic. However, it will take practice to master the talent. But, you will get tons of admiration and laughs while learning. Subsequently, with practice the serious hunter will master the technique and bring home the wild turkey male gobblers using our turkey calls. It’s nice to have turkey humor as well enjoy our video.
We have some turkey hunting humor at Slabs. So, enjoy these twins using turkey trumpet calls for the first time. They are fun to watch and the quality of the trumpet call really shows. So, how can you make a gobbler answer your turkey trumpet call? Our turkey trumpet calls resembles a trumpet and the sound similar to a turkey hen is high quality. Whether you make a yelp sound, a clucking sound or cry this sounds so much like the hen it brings the longbeards (gobblers). The trumpet call is handmade from exotic hardwoods; African Blackwood, Epi (pronounced ee pay), and Cocobolo woods.

How to operate the turkey trumpet?
First, you can’t blow the trumpet like the trumpet musical instrument. This art takes practice and the following steps. First step, find your favorite place to put your lips on the tube since each hunter has their own preference. Since you can’t blow the trumpet it’s a good idea to practice making a kissing sound with your lips puckered. Secondly, hunters place their lips on the tube sucking in air as the trumpet makes the hen sound. Next practice this technique using your hands at the bell end of the trumpet. This gives an echo to the hen sound. Once this is done, you can hear the hen singing with practice. Above all, it takes time to master the turkey trumpet. So, once the hunter masters the various turkey trumpet skills the he will bring in the prize gobbler.
Hunters who use Slabs trumpet calls have a better chance of bringing in more gobblers. Try Slabs turkey trumpets and see how gobblers listen for the hens call, and watch them come to you!
